Come up a relatable concept for Equip Our Kids, a non-profit promoting emotional intelligence, called, “At Our Core” , which reframed emotional intelligence, a once-abstract idea as something should be a key part of every child’s core curriculum. Having emotional intelligence holds us all together as humans and we were able to showcase this in a relatable way by featuring items that are held together by cores: apples, planets, eggs, and avocados.
Just think that if every child in America developed emotional intelligence, then societal problems like systemic racism, violence against women, school bullying, and widespread anxiety would disappear.
Notes:
During the pandemic, I volunteered with The Art of Good, a pro bono agency that’s made up of entrepreneurial-minded strategists and advertising luminaries from across the country. We created a script and storyboard for a PSA featuring Pierce Freelon, a musician and educator who sings about important themes such as consent, but sadly ran out of money before production got underway.
ROLE:
Worked with my art director partner to shape this idea, simplified messaging and copy, drafted a script and storyboard, and creative directed the social team.
